This German advent calendar with glitter accents folds out to 27" wide and forms a free standing calendar. This advent calendar was originally produced in 1960 and is now being re-printed. Shows a nostalgic view of a German village in winter. A man and his children split and carry wood to stoke the fire. A woman, children and dog greet the Postman. A child ice-skates under the stone bridge while a horse drawn carriage is met by townsfolk. The Alps and a church steeple can be seen in the background.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open. Each door has a little picture behind it. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
