Product Description
Winter Forest Themed Advent Calendar
This German advent calendar with glitter accents shows a sweet scene of children hiking with their sled laden with holly for Christmas decorations. They are accompanied by the family dog, a herd of deer and other wildlife. The youngest rests his legs while his sister pulls and the setting sun makes snow covered forest glow. Their cabin build in the traditional German style is shown in the distance with mother at the window and father with his hunting dog.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open. Each door has a little picture behind it.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's, with the tradition continuing today. One door is opened each day from December 1 thru December 24. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
