Product Description
Santa's Workshop German Christmas Advent Calendar
This German advent calendar shows a vignette of Santa's workshop with toy dolls, horses, puppies, cars, teddy bears and more. The toys have come to life and all watch the glow coming from the manger doors. An angel ornament hangs over the nativity and an evergreen garland with star ornaments frames the scene.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open, with each hiding a small picture.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and continues today. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
