Product Description
Santa's Gingerbread House German Advent Calendar
This German advent calendar shows a charming scene of Santa checking his list as elves and angels ready the sleigh for his Christmas Eve ride. Snow covers Santa's gingerbread house in the forest. A scalloped border frames the scene.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open, with each hiding a little picture. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24 during the count down to Christmas. A great activity with children and family.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and continues today.
