Product Description
This German porcelain stein features a humorous take on the beer brewing Bavarian purity law. Herr Burgermeister (the mayor) declares a new law for the town with bell & scroll in hand. The text states that the creek water is to be used for beer brewing on Wednesday and therefore the townsfolk can no longer "go" or "geschissen" in the creek starting on Tuesday.
The German reads: "Der Herr Burgermeister gibt bekannt, dass am Mittwoch Bier gebraut wird und deshalb ab Dienstage nicht mehr in den Bach geschissen werden darf!"
Special Mugs for Special Beer Drinkers
500 years ago, the Germans, being the innovative engineers that they are, brought forth to this world a revolutionary new concept in beer making innovation. Facing a grain crisis due to excess competition between bread makers, beer brewers, and other trades that used high amounts of different high-demand grains, the German government found themselves in the middle of a bit of a difficult situation.

What is the German Purity Law?
Something had to be done before the price of grain became so outrageously high that German citizens would no longer be able to enjoy their favorite beverage—beer. So, law makers sat back, poured themselves a tall lager, and came up with the idea for the German Purity Law that is still utilized by a nation of the best beer makers in the world to this date.
Aesthetics, Humor, and Beauty
This specialized 500 year anniversary beer mug is a beautiful porcelain version of our half liter stoneware beer mug. Made out of porcelain and complete with a domed pewter lid that even sports an ornamental thumb-lift, this mug is guaranteed to add a dash of sophistication to any beer drinker’s arsenal of brew pounding devices. This mug has a humorous, although slightly vulgar, description on its façade that reads:
“Der Herr Burgermeister gibt bekannt, dass am Mittwoch Bier gebraut wird und deshalb ab Dienstage nicht mehr in den Bach geschissen werden darf”
Which translates in English to:
“The mayor has announced that beer will be brewed on Wednesday and that therefore on Tuesdays, there should be no more [bleep]ing in the creek.”
