A panorama drawing of the old medieval German city of Heidelberg (Heidelberga), is shown on this stein's wrap-around decoration. The scene is carefully hand colored and depicts the city in olden times. Relief castle towers on the front frame the words "Neccar Fluvius" latin for "(The) Neckar River". The Neckar (which connects with the Rhine) flows through Heidelberg and has promoted growth & prosperity in the city for centuries. This unique stein has a lathe turned wooden top set into a pewter lid.
