Product Description
This unique 1 liter salt glaze beer mug is the Official 2011 Oktoberfest Wirtekrug (host's mug) used and sold exclusively at the beer tents of Munich's 2011 Oktoberfest, held 9/17/2011 - 10/03/2011! The front features a depiction of the portrait of Coletta Möritz painted by Friedrich August v. Kaulbach of Munich titled "Schützenliesl". The beer maiden balances on a keg with nine frothy beer steins and shooting target for a hat. This iconic theme was featured on posters, souvenirs and even in a song.
The sides feature the logos of all the beer tents at the 2011 Oktoberfest shown on crests hanging from ribbons entangled with hop vines. A bucolic scene of Munich and Oktoberfest are shown below.
These mugs are normally only available at the Munich Oktoberfest, however we were able to acquire a limited supply of these mugs from the manufacturer.
Each mug has a copy of the artist's signature on the bottom, has a hand painted limited edition number and comes in a gift box.
