Product Description
This German advent calendar Christmas card shows Nisse ice skating on the forest lake while enjoying the softly falling snow. His turn has made an artful cut in the snow dusted ice, echoing the shape of his ice skate blades.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open, with each hiding a little picture behind it.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and continues today.
One door is opened each day from December 1 thru December 24 according to tradition. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
