This triptych style religious German advent calendar shows Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus with angel, animals and praying child besides the manger in the center panel. The left arch shows the shepherds with their sheep, while the right contains the wise men and star. Each door opens to reveal a Bible verse behind it.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open. Each door has a Bible verse (in English) behind it. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
