Product Description

The Bavarian city of Munich (Munchen), well known for it's world famous yearly Oktoberfest celebration, is the theme of this 2 liter stoneware beer stein.  Richly hand-painted relief decoration is highlighted by the dark cobalt blue background.  The front shows the Marienplatz (town square) framed by the Alps with Munich's town hall (the Rathaus) and the most famous Glockenspiel (animated bell-tower) in the world.  The banner reads "Munchen" with the city coat of arms.  One side features the Frauenkirche (Our Lady's Church) with it's unmistakable onion domed towers or "Frauenturme".  The opposite side shows the Hofbrauhaus (HB), the most famous beer hall in the world, with a traditonally dressed couple dancing above.  Edelweiss and decorative scrolling frame each scene.
