Product Description
This beautifully detailed large advent calendar depicts Christmas market in Leipzig.
The history of the Christmas market in Leipzig dates back to the 15th century. The Leipzig Christmas Market is one of the largest and most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany. Over 250 beautifully decorated Christmas stalls bring a festive atmosphere to the market square in front of the Old Town Hall. The Old Town Hall Leipzig now houses the Stadtgeschichtliche Museum Leipzig. The exhibitions lead the guest through the history of the city of trade, trade fairs and the peaceful revolution in 1989. The old music is also firmly linked to Leipzig by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open. Each door has a little picture behind it. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
