This 2 Liter 2008 limitat antique style beer stein depicts scenes from the Old Testament and is a tribute to Melchisedech, the king of Jerusalem, also named the king of Probity.  He is praised for being the first priest to use solely bread and water for sacrifice to God denying the tradition of slaughtering of animals and even humans.  The top panel features Abraham being stopped by God's angel from sacrificing his son Isaac.  The middle panel shows Melchisedech handing bread and water to Abraham to sacrifice them to God instead.  In the bottom panel Melchisedech blesses Abraham.  These three panels repeat on either side in monochrome.  Ornate and finely detailed decorations including overflowing cornucopias, flowers and leaves surround the panels. 

This stein was originally modeled around 1880 by Peter Duemler and is now being faithfully reproduced by King-Werk GmbH.

Cream, cobalt blue and burnt sienna color scheme in relief hand painted decoration. Pewter Lid. Includes a certificate of authenticity and history in German and English.
