Hamburg German Beer Stein
This hand-painted relief beer stein with dark cobalt blue glaze backdrop celebrates Hamburg, Germany as the Tor zur Welt or in English Gateway to the World. A name paying homage to Hanseatic League history, Hamburg does credit to it's nickname with the second largest populated city in Germany (second only to Berlin), the third largest Port in Europe and home to Germany's oldest stock exchange & the world's oldest merchant bank.
St. Pauli Landungsbruecken or St. Pauli Piers with it's historical clock tower in the Port of Hamburg is prominently displayed on the front. The Fernsehturm (Heinrich Hertz Tower) is depicted on the left with the 18th century St. Michaelis Kirche on the right.
