Product Description
This relief decorated stein honors Gambrinus and St. Salvator toasting to brotherhood over a beer in front of a large keg.
Gambrinus is the honorary patron saint of brewing or beer, who is though to have made the toasting of glasses a social custom. St. Salvator, a Franciscan monk living in Spain lived in the 1500's and was canonized for his ability to heal the sick. His role in the monastery was cook and porter.
The fellowship shown between the two on this stein symbolizes a toast to drink, health and/or food.
The text on this stein reads "Salvator Speci Sag'n ma Du, Ruft er mit aller Kraft." which translates as: "Salvator, my chap, let's be on first name basis, he shouts out with all his strength." and "Des hast scho wirkli zĆ¼nfti g'macht. Geh trink ma BrĆ¼derschaft." which translates as: "You really did a great job. Let's drink to brotherhood."
A deep cobalt blue background accents the hand-painted decoration on this German beer stein. The sides show hop vines and leaves. Pewter relief conical lid and pewter thumblift.
