This hand painted beer stein is a tribute to the joy of youth with merry making and steins/kegs of beer in abundance. A banner scrolls around the bottom of this beer stein and reads "Schoen ist die Jugend bei frohen Zeiten, Schoen ist die Jugend, sie kommt nicht mehr." which translates as: "Beautiful is youth with happy times, Beautiful is youth, it comes not again." The rose near the front banner symbolizes the beautiful, but short, bloom of youth.
