Product Description
Fairy Tale Themed Advent Calendar Christmas Card
This German advent calendar Christmas card shows a gathering of fairy tale characters, angels, elves and woodland animals for a Christmas party including the frog price, the seven dwarfs and puss in boots. They dance, eat and enjoy the Christmas festivities in their secret tree house covered in snow. The large room glows with the light of an advent wreath while the moon lights on the snowy forest landscape outside.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open, with each hiding a little picture behind it.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and continues today.
The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
