Product Description
Elves and Angels German Christmas Advent Calendar
This German advent calendar shows a woodland Christmas festival with elves and angels. A sleigh bearing Christmas gifts drawn by a handsome reindeer stops deep in the forest and in the middle of a festive scene. Angels fly above the glowing Christmas tree hanging gingerbread and bell garlands. Elves inspect the treats, toys and presents while curious bunnies watch and birds partake of the goodies. An owl and crow in the trees watch as the merry scene unfolds.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open, with each hiding a picture.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and continues today. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. A great activity to do with children and the family.
