Product Description
Authentic German Christmas House Advent Calendar
This 24.25" tall German advent calendar with glitter accents depicts a grand Christmas house layered like a cake with a clock tower and angels on the roof. Children sing carols from the balcony, a cat peeks curiously into a window and the main floor shop displays it's Christmas toys. This advent calendar was originally produced in 1959 and is now being re-printed.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open. Each door has a little picture behind it.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and the traditions continues on today. Open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24 on the way to Christmas. A great activity with kids and family members!
