History of Christian Ulbricht Wooden Christmas Ornaments in Germany
In 1928, deep in Germany’s Ore Mountain Range, Otto Ulbricht founded a small workshop for wooden crafts, toys and German ornaments. The Ulbricht family spent the next sixty years crafting wooden Christmas ornaments, clocks, lamps and other wooden trinkets. Otto Ulbricht continued the company even after the family fled to West Germany, and sold the business to his son Christian in 1968. Christian Ulbricht eventually bought back the original business after Germany was reunited.
