An exquisitely detailed scene of two men setting in castle room playing cards is shown on this German made stein. A drum is used an impromptu table and the banner below reads "Erst besinn's, dann beginn's" which translates as "Look before you leap". Hop vines frame the scene.
Ivory, brown, cobalt blue and green glaze combination. Ornamental pewter lid and thumblift.
