This hand painted beer stein features playing cards with ornate scrolling between the motifs.  Text on the upper and lower rim reads "Ein Spiel ganz in ehren soll niemand verwhern.  Nach den Worten dann Taten. Das Spiel muss geraten" which translates as: "A game in good faith is always right.  After the talking, the deeds count.  The game has to be successful."
