Bavarian Pattern Salt Glazed Pottery Beer Stein

Bavarian flag pattern wrap around motif gray salt glaze finish stoneware beer stein 0.5 Liter.  The diamond (or rhombus) pattern is incised into the body of the stein and hand colored with a deep cobalt blue glaze.

Salt glazing is a unique process and involves adding salt into the kiln during the firing process; thus variations, darkening, or spotting in the finish are normal and make each item one of a kind!

• Hand-applied handle
• Cobalt blue accents on body & handle
• Domed pewter lid with ball thumblift
• Height: approx. 5 5/8" to top of lid, 6.25" to top of thumblift
• Stamped "Girmscheid Handarbeit Salzglasur | Made in Germany " (hand-made, salt glazed) on the base.
