The Bavarian coat of arms, introduced in 1950, features a golden lion representing the Upper Palatinate district and the Wittelsbach dynasty, who ruled Bavaria since the 12th century. It also includes three black lions from the Hohenstaufen dynasty's coat of arms, representing the Swabia district. The lion, a symbol of courage, strength, and royalty, is the most famous emblem of Bavaria.
A large relief Bavaria lion crest and flags with 24K gold accents wraps around the body of this hand painted stein. Base rim reads "Bavaria" with Bayern coat of arms and horse drawn beer wagons. Hand painted, 24K gold accents, cobalt blue background and pewter relief conical lid.
