The district of Bad Cannstatt is home to reportedly the world's second largest beer festival - the Cannstatter Volksfest (or Stuttgart Beer Festival) every fall. Cannstatt (renamed Bad Cannstatt in the 1930's to pay tribute to it's abundant mineral springs) can also lay claim to the workshop of Gottlieb Daimler (Daimler - Mercedes Benz) and the first produced Ritter Sport chocolate bar.
