Product Description
German Christmas Advent Calendar With Angels Bringing Children Gifts
This German advent calendar shows a host of angels bringing toys and sweets to the sleeping children of the snowy village. A snowman on skis helps carry the presents, while two angels in a horse driven sleigh bring a Christmas tree and more presents to town. Angels arrive by car, pushing carts and with sleds all laden with gifts.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and continues today. Advent calendars feature 24 little doors to open. Each door has a little picture behind it. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. A great activity with children and the family.
