Angel And Post Office German Advent Calendar
This German advent calendar features a free standing 3D design with Christmas trees framing the inner scene. The angels at the post office are busy at Christmas; wish lists, letters to Santa, Christmas cards, gifts and good wishes are sent on their way throughout the town and beyond, bringing Christmas cheer.
Children eagerly wait in line to mail their letters and Scottie dog even helps! The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open, with each hiding a small picture.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and continues today. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
