Berlin Wall Beer Stein
This German made stein honors the 30th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall (1989-2019) with an actual piece of the Berlin wall on the lid. The striking gold text on a black banner on the front reads "1989 ~ Jahre 30 Years ~ 2019". The front depicts a large crack in the wall with a triumphant German eagle crest flag flying on the Brandenburg gate (located in former East Berlin). The wall reads "Die Mauer erected 13. Aug. 1961 ~ The Wall fallen 9. Nov. 1989"
Relief vignettes of landmarks of Berlin wrap around the body, including the Gedachtnis-Kirche, Brandenburger Tor and Checkpoint Charlie.
The bottom rim reads "Deutschland . Berlin . Germany" with scroll design.

Historical Background (printed on certificate that is included with purchase)
On Aug 13, 1961 the Communist Eastern German Government started Construction of a Wall circling West Berlin. Total Wall length was 112Km (70 miles). The Wall stood 3.6 meters (11.8 ft) tall and divided families, friends and neighborhoods.
On November 09, 1989, through a Peaceful Revolution, the people of East Berlin regained freedom by tearing down this Wall.
This stein celebrates 30 Years of Fall of the Berlin Wall and the Reunification of Berlin.
