Product Description
This German stein celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Free State of Bavaria (100 Jahre Freistaat Bayern) with all things Bavarian. Bavaria officially proclaimed it's independence in 1918. The festivities will culminate with a big celebration in Munich on Nov. 8th, 2018. Events celebrating this anniversary will be going on throughout the year focused on bringing everyone closer to the essence being a Bavarian; the unique customs, traditions, way of life and of course the natural beauty of the area.
The Bavarian Constitution also celebrates it's 200th anniversary this year, originally written in 1818. The front of the stein displays an Oompah band in the foreground with an Oktoberfest beer tent and snow peaked alps in the background. A horse drawn beer wagon brings libations to the celebration and the Bayern coat of arms & maypole frame the banner reading "Bayern - Bavaria". Beautiful hand painted details and a dark cobalt blue background.
The plateau pewter lid is graced by a 3D pewter figurine of a traditionally dressed couple dancing. The bottom rim is encircled with gold text reading "Freistaat Bayern" "100 Jahre" "Free State of Bavaria" "100 Years". Bavarian lion crest thumblift.
The beer stein body features a panorama of notable Bavarian cities & landmarks including the Zugspitze, Berchtesgaden, Fussen, Munchen, Castle Neuschwanstein, Oberammergau, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Castle Linderhof.
The upper rim is decorated with symbols of Bavaria: a stoneware beer mug, hops, wurst (sausage), a pretzel, an edelweiss, traditional German hunter hat, alpine flowers and a cowbell. The lower rim is incised with a cobalt blue and stoneware Bavarian flag pattern. Pewter conical lid.
